Adrianna and Mike
January 17, 2011
Adrianna and Mike had a lovely wedding yesterday. There were under 20 guests, so I felt honored that my fancy camera could be my ticket in. Adrianna’s dad manages a retreat center in Frederic, Wisconsin which made for a picture perfect wooded setting. The wedding was simple, beautiful, and intimate.
It’s clear that these two lovebirds are nothing but happy to be together. Hearty congratulations to the adorable couple!

Amber + James
November 24, 2010
Amber and James got married at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis with a gorgeous reception to follow at one of my all time favorite spots, The Walker Art Center. I had never met Amber and James before the big day, but I quickly learned what a great couple they are. They were definitely meant for each other since James is from Canada, Amber is from Minnesota and they met in Mexico. Their relationship spans across the entire continent, I guess!
Congratulations, Amber and James. Thanks for letting me be a part of your day!
This is how some people get ready:::
This is how other people get ready::: (This pre-wedding game was courtesy of the groomsmen, I believe).
There’s nothing quite as beautiful as a gigantic old church. I love Central Lutheran!
Fun fact: This strange looking sculpture of an electrical plug is by Claes Oldenburg, the same artist who created Spoonbridge and Cherry. How do you think they dust this thing?
While James was gathering some family members, we had a bride photo shoot. I will only share a couple of the many pictures we took. Thanks for humoring me, Amber!
We couldn’t leave the groom out…
The reception was in a room with a great view of Hennepin Avenue and Downtown Minneapolis. Very cool.
Check out the teeny hamburgers! Cute, huh? (Or…should I say “eh?” for all the Canadians who were in attendance?)
Matt + Elizabeth
July 6, 2010
Ever since their engagement shoot, I’ve been looking forward to Matt and Elizabeth’s wedding. What a wonderful couple. I had a little bit of an extra tie to their wedding since Matt’s mom was one of my English teachers in 8th grade. Yikes – I better make sure I’m careful with this blog entry! Of course, my mom was one of my English teachers, too, so I always have to be grammatically careful. I digress.
Matt and Elizabeth had a wonderful wedding in Northfield, MN. We took pictures on the St. Olaf College campus – beautiful! Their reception was at The Grand Event Center, a funky old theatre downtown. Very cool. I had a blast taking pictures throughout the day and wish Matt and Elizabeth the very best. Here’s to the newest Mr. and Mrs. Christensen!
This is the reason it is not a good idea for me to go into food photography. Scrumptious!
Jake and Michelle
July 6, 2010
Jake and Michelle had their actual wedding on a beach in Florida earlier this spring. Since Jake grew up in Minnesota, they had an additional reception at Mississippi Dunes in Cottage Grove that I got to be a part of. What fun! Although I had never met Jake and Michelle before this event, I had heard lots about both of them from Jake’s mom. They are an adorable couple. Thanks for letting me be a part of round 2 of your reception!
No one walked away with grass stains, I promise.
Molly + Travis
June 29, 2010
Molly and Travis’s wedding was a blast. They are an adorable couple and I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with them. Their wedding and reception were in the south metro area, but we traveled via party bus to Harriet Island and the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul for photos. What a great day!
This is the tree that Travis proposed under on Harriet Island. Good pick, Travis!
Jonathan + Christina
June 21, 2010
Jonathan and Christina got married on a gorgeous day not too long ago. Their ceremony was at University Lutheran, a quaint little old church in the middle of the University of Minnesota campus. Their reception was at the beautiful University Club in St. Paul. What a beautiful wedding and a wonderful couple!
I know Jon from Concordia. Note the clear shot of the Cobber class ring in this picture:
I loved the peacock feather theme throughout the day. There were peacock feathers in the bridesmaid’s hair, on the ends of the church pews, and in the bouquets. How fun!

Meghan & Cory
January 26, 2010
I’ve known Meghan since one of the first days of college. We lived on the same dorm floor freshman and sophomore year and were roommates our junior year. As any of our other college friends would probably admit, we all spent plenty of time imagining the guys we would each end up with…and…maybe a little too much time scheming about how to make our moves. Meghan and Cory’s wedding marks the last wedding of the Magnificent Seven, a group of seven of my good friends from college (we named ourselves…cute, huh?).
Meghan and Cory live in Hawaii, so I was thrilled that their wedding was in Minnesota and even more thrilled that I got to be their photographer. They had a beautiful wedding at the Carlos Creek Winery in Alexandria, MN. It was a wee bit on the chilly side, but the winter weather made for beautiful surroundings and lovely outdoor lighting. It was fun to be a part of the day! Congrats Meghan and Cory!
You’ve got to do something to stay warm!
Five of the Magnificent Seven made it to Meghan and Cory’s wedding. We missed you Maria and Kelli!
Joa & Andrew
November 25, 2009
I am finally getting around to posting about Joa and Andrew’s fantastic wedding. As you can see from the pictures there was still green grass and yellow leaves at the time of their wedding, but that’s beside the point.
Joa and Andrew tied the knot on Joa’s family farm in a teeny tiny Iowa town. It was beautiful. Joa and Andy’s creativity and gave this wedding a very distinct style. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of their day. Here’s to the happy married couple!
Joa designed this dress. Adorable!!
The bridesmaids and groomsmen spent a few moments with Joa and Andy right before their ceremony. Joa’s bridesmaids and some family members prayed for her before she walked down the aisle.
The wedding party took a hayride between the ceremony and reception. I love that bright blue sky!!
Erin & Ryan
November 8, 2009
Erin and Ryan had a beautiful wedding at the Church of St. Mark in St. Paul and an elegant reception at the Graves 601 in downtown Minneapolis. I already knew from their engagement session that Erin and Ryan are a great couple. Let’s face it, Ryan’s last name and Erin’s maiden name rhyme and that in and of itself is a sign that they were meant to be together, right?? I was glad to be a part of the big day! Congatulations again, you two!
Step 1: Pick up the groom. Step 2: Almost drop the groom. Step 3: Be REALLY careful while holding the groom.
This wedding party took “strike your own” pose to a new creative height.
